Turning Red, the next big Pixar movie, will hit Disney+ on March 11. A few days after its premiere, today the first reviews of this film have been shared, and it seems that, once again, this animation studio has given us a fantastic film.

The first reviews of Turning Red are now available, and currently this film has an 89 rating on Metacritic with 17 reviews, all positive. There isn't a reception on Rotten Tomatoes at the moment, but these won't be long. Overall, critics have loved the animation, the humor, and the apt portrayal of young Asian girls in America.

This was what The A.V. Club, who gave this film a perfect rating:

"We all need a little reassurance from time to time to stay true to ourselves, and Turning Red is speaking directly to generations of Asian women in the diaspora when they need to hear this the most."

For its part, Screen Rant, who have also provided a 100, mentioned:

“There isn't a single frame of this movie that doesn't maximize this story's potential, wit, humor or charm. Every moment counts and turns Turning Red into a visual feast."

Similarly, The Globe and Mail commented that:

"This is a forceful, heartfelt, moving and often delightfully subversive story about a young girl's journey to adulthood and her coming to terms with her cultural heritage."

However, not everything is perfect, and this commented Slant about it:

"After a first hour that may well affect Zoomers and their millennial parents, Turning Red gradually runs out of steam."

Apparently, Turning Red is positioned to be one of the best Pixar movies of recent years, which follows the studio's traditional formula, something we saw in movies like Luca and Inside Out, but with the quality and level of attention that characterizes this type of work.

Turning Red will arrive on Disney+ on March 11, 2022. On related topics, Keanu Reeves will be in charge of bringing Batman to life in a new animated film. Similarly, the Studio Ghibli films will return to the cinema with additional content.
